A bush chain is quite like the roller chain. However, it does not have friction – reducing rollers and is certainly thus suitable rather for lower driving speeds. The permitted regular movement speeds of the slow-working bush chains range from 0.3 m/sec to at least one 1.2 m/sec, with no more than 3.0 m/sec. 
Bush chains are most regularly found in applications requiring continuous procedure under coarse working circumstances as well as operation in warm and humid environment where the use of belt drives would be inappropriate.
